International Service is one of Rotary’s Avenues of Service, which form the foundation of Club activity. Issues such as literacy, hunger, malaria, disease and access to clean water affect us all. Through International Service, Rotarians are leading the way in needy communities to find solutions to these global concerns.
The Rotary E-Club of Melbourne is fortunate to have members located all over the world, helping us to identify the needs of people in less fortunate countries than Australia. We are especially proud of the support we continue to provide to a remote village in India that doesn’t have easy access to clean drinking water throughout much of the year. Recently our members visited the site where the E-Club has funded the construction of a water pump. See below for how you can also help to support this project.
‘International Service is very close to my heart as it helps me to make friends from all over the world, reunite during International Conventions, and most importantly many of them visit me and I visit them and then the friendship is a lifelong one. This has happened to me on many occasions and I enjoy the value of such friendship so much. As International Services director for the E-Club I have been able to do small projects and big projects with my friends’ clubs too and I feel so good that I can connect and help the needy of society.’
